We Have Grapes!
Growing grapes is not easy because they require attention and really like a lot of heat. IN orange, we get some heat but not enough to grow wine grapes.
We have:
Red Flame - Red Flame grapes are a seedless variety of grapes that are known for their sweet, crisp flavor and deep red color. They are a popular choice for eating fresh, in salads, or in desserts.
Characteristics
- Color: Deep red skin with purple overtones
- Taste: Sweet and slightly tangy
- Texture: Juicy and crunchy
- Cluster shape: Elongated, loose, and medium sized
Growing conditions
Temperature: Require a lot of heat during the growing season
Soil: Grow best in well-drained soil
Planting: Dig a hole that's twice as wide as the root mass, and fill with a mixture of native soil, planting mix, and organic fertilizer
Watering: Water young plants enough to maintain growth, but avoid overwatering
Fertilizing: Fertilize lightly in spring, or amend the soil with compost
Pruning: Prune regularly
Uses snacking, adding to salads, and incorporating into desserts.
