Paul Retired In March 2007 - Years
It's more like this than one might think! I thought I would get more handsome
but alas, time is taking its toll!
I retired in March of 2007 after 40+ years between us a North American Aviation, Rockwell, and then the Boeing Company. Sue retired at the same time.
While most people worry about "adjusting to retired life" we fell into it immediately. The next day would be a proper time!
Sue had been retired almost thirteen years when she passed, way too soon.
I was lucky enought to meet Mary again (after knowing her for twenty-two years) and she went through retirement with me guiding her. I was the expert! Mary's final retirement from the private practice was Thanksgiving 2021.

We are both retired and having a ball!
We are so busy these days that I am often tickled by the thought of going back to work to rest (not!).
This little site is a collection of humor and observations about retirement (aka being old). Please enjoy!
You are certainly welcome to visit On The Go which shows some of our short visits to places around town!
We have not looked back! We are so busy these days between museum's, golf, dancing, movies, gardening, friends and family that time passes 90 miles an hour!
Looking Back? Nope!
We never looked back except on occasion to remember how bad the last several years were. Boeing began to act like our government... Zero leadership, the nitwits began to rise into positions of importance, and "process improvement" was the name of the game... That was a welfare scheme for people who could not do anything else. We suffered with poor, if not incompetent, leadership and finally had to leave early. Our leaders had done NOTHING... Led IR&D projects, pushed paperwork, or worse yet were ex-military with not a clue on how to run a program.
We Did Look Back, Pre-Boeing
Before Rockwell sold out to Boeing work was fun, challenging, and led by real people who we knew! Where are the real leaders like George Jeffs? Real leaders like Edward P. Smith, Seymour Rubenstein, Charles Helms, Charles Feltz, Bud Benner... Real leaders one could trust!
This man was a REAL AEROSPACE MANAGER!

A Little Story
After a Christmas break, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holidays. One small boy wrote the following:
We always used to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live here in a big brick home, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Florida. Now they live in a place with a lot of other retarded people. They all live in little tin boxes.
They ride on big three-wheeled tricycles and they all wear name tags because they don't know who they are. They go to a big building called a wrecking hall; but if it was wrecked, they got it fixed because it's all right now. They play games and do exercises there, but they don't do them very good.
There is a swimming pool there. They go into it and just stand there with their hats on. I guess they don't know how to swim. As you go into their park, there is a dollhouse with a little man sitting in it. He watches all day so they can't get out without him seeing them. When they can sneak out, they go to the beach and pick up shells that they think are dollars.
My grandma used to bake cookies and stuff, but I guess she forgot how. Nobody cooks, they just eat out. They eat the same thing every night, "early birds."
Some of the people are so retarded that they don't know how to cook at all, so my Grandma and Grandpa bring food into the wrecked hall and they call it "pot luck." My grandma says grandpa worked hard all his life and earned his retardment.
I wish they would move back up here, but I guess the little man in the dollhouse won't let them out.
Paul missed the beginning by two years
