Preparing Saint Patrick's Day Dinner 2023

In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to God. --Stephen Braveheart

Saint Patrick's Dinner Preparations

We work hard to make everything nice plus we like to experiment!  We began the work of love on Thursday by getting the Irish Soda Bread fresh form the market.

Did You Know? - Image result The traditional way of serving your Irish soda bread is serving the loaf while it's warm with butter. Spread a thick layer of your butter on the slice and revel on the hearty flavor exploding in your mouth. If you think that butter is boring, it's not.

Thursday The 16th, We Got Started!

We are doing for preparations:

  1. Crockpot/Slow-cooker - Eight hours on high so it needed to be turned on at 9:00 am!

  2. Over Baked - Several hours in the 350 degree oven

  3. Instapot (Pressure Cooker) -  90 minutes on high, release, drop in the veggies, followed by another five minutes,

  4. Traditional Boiled - Three hours simmering in the pot creating that distinctive aroma all over the house!

When Robin arrived, an alarm went off in New Hampshire and Colleen was n the other end of the horn.  They talked for quite a while catching up on everything!

This looks so good, we were tempted to cook it this evening.

At 8:00 pm we turned on a Keifer & Donald Sutherland movie, Unforgiven and watched it while Mary did her magic with deviled eggs. We are still trying to figure out where she found green chickens!
