The 1950's Styles Included Leather

It Was A Great Time To Be Alive!

Had To Have A Leather Jacket

LEather Jackets OK OK... the truth!  I got my first "leather jacket " in 1957... amazing... it was Los Angeles in summertime.... 80-90 degrees every day and I wore leather!

Mom wondered why I wanted a leather jacket... one with about 27 million  zippers in it!

I wore that poor old jacket every day for years.... until it just wore out!
Buying a new one was... well.. exciting!  Mom said..."Makes you look like a hood!"  I didn't even know what a hood was... except the thing that covers the car engine!

In High School I even had a style like the folks on Grease... hair hanging in the middle of my forehead and Brylcreme (... you know, "A little dab will do ya'") to the Nth degree... no wonder I am short of hair today!

Brylcream

Did You Know? - Brylcreem (pronounced brill-cream) is a brand of hair styling products for men. The first Brylcreem product was a pomade created in 1928 by County Chemicals at the Chemico Works in Bradford Street, Birmingham, England. The pomade is an emulsion of water and mineral oil stabilised with beeswax.

Beecham was the longtime owner of Brylcreem. Sara Lee bought the personal care unit of SmithKline Beecham in 1992.
