Father's Day 2023 Was Fun
I really had no druthers about Father's Day, it is not something I celebrate. We did decide to do it easy and go to the Elks Lodge. I did not want Mary to have to work and besides, the Elks put on a great feast even if it is just burgers and hot dogs!
Remembering times when the kids were growing up makes Father's Day special!
I have almost reached eighty years on this tiny planet and the closer I get to the end, the more I realize how amazing my father was; I hope I am half the man he was! My father was smart, reserved, a true family man who loved his greater family. He taught me much over the course of eighteen years and I hope I have passed some of that on to my son, Joe.
I have ALWAYS wanted a shoe buffer but for some reason I never bought one. Mary surprised my with this device and I spend three hours finding and polishing all my shoes; what do I need with ten pair of black dress shoes? I also did my tennis shoes!
In the buff!!
While in the shower I remember the present and decided to dry off in the garage (with the door closed). Well, some sneaky person crept into the garage without me knowing a shot a picture of me working.
Working away making them all look wonderful!
The shoes shielded the camera and kept the lens from breaking!
I thought she had departed so I turn up Alexa and was playing Dolly Pardon using all my good country moves...then, I heard the door slam! She got me!
How embarrassing butt not too bad for an 80 year old!
I was explaining my new machine!
"You can have only one drink Dad!!"
"But Robin, one and one is two!!"
Bob & Robin
Paul & Mary
What is he looking at?

Also a good time to visit!
What did that young man say???
Ladies, the food is eight minutes away!
Donna explains!
And it was this big!
Maybe!
We went through the food like Custer going through Shilo!
Charlie keeps his eye on things!
Alex has a birds eye view of the goings-on!
How many magicians does it take to do magic? Just one will do the trick.
Joe is getting a kick out of the banter!
What kind of dog does magic tricks? A Labracadabrador.
Mary gets the camera ready!
He has the eight of hearts; tou know what that means, right?
What did the magician say after saying he was going to pull a rabbit from his hat? This next trick is a hare-raising experience.
Joe's one good eye is poised to figure out how the trick was done
"Poof, all gone!"
Amy is really enjoying this; how can she make Joe disappear??
Great fun!
Did you hear about the magician who did magic with chocolate? He had loads of Twix up his sleeve.
The magician kept us in stitches.
Mary gave him a three dollar bill!
Sheer concentration!!
A Mexican magician was doing a magic show. He said "Uno, dos…"And he disappeared without a tres.
Puzzled, yes!!
This is impossible!
I showed a mime a magic trick. He was speechless.
Mary hung on to Nick not wanting him to disappear!
Hold on to the magician!!
Count to fifty-six in Swahili!
Visiting with the boys!
How is it done?
That's what we call inflation
"Take a card, any card," the magician says.
I took his credit card.
Everyone wrote their name on one card!
Mary documented the trick!
Thank you Robin for the candid photo!
Just sign your name on the card!
Signed and ready to go! It ended up in his shoe!
I unfolded the card from his shoe, and there are or signatures! Truly magic.
Pour out some salt on a glass or mirror
Position the shaker on the salt at an angle
Blow the salt away (not getting it into the neighboring table)
Voila! Magic
Departing is such sweet sorrow!
Indeed a gaggle!
We needed Colleen and Mark!
Who gave Papa TV antennas?
The chauffeur is getting the car!
Take us home in style!
We are off!
Time for an iced-tea!
....and some serious goofing off!
Z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z
She is still awake!
Goodbye Robin!
Goodbye Bob!
