Head Chef

She's at it again! Her hobby is cooking which was a great relief after a hard day at work!  Now that we are retired we have time to think about meals and take great delight in planning ahead!  We even go to cooking demonstrations to see if we can learn anything new!

Farmer Paul

We cook together but Paul is relegated to the preparations and cleanup duty. The heavy creativity is in Sue's hands!

Here is Paul doing a taste test while Sue is not looking (except through the lens of the camera, ha ha)

The Garden Is Paul's Domain

Out back we have corn, onions, peppers, zucchini, and bells! A whole selection of vegetables.  Dinner usually consists of whatever happens to be ripe this day making for interesting results and really really fresh foods!  See our Garden Site for more details

What Do We Grow? Everything

BBQ Veggies

Stews are a favorite around the house with Paul brining in the vegetables and Sue making magic in the kitchen.  Quite often time from picking to eating is within minutes.  Nothing like fresh veggies that you know are clean ad never been sprayed with anything other than water!

Eggplants

Cooking

Eggplant casserole is made in many styles and we do freeze them for the winter months when we need a taste of summer.

This one is "Cassie's Casserole" named after our grand-daughter who used to love to cook.

Bell Peppers

These will soon be stuffed with the fillings from the garden.  We often will put cheese in the bottom of the pepper and fill it with spicey (real hot) rice stuffing) and bake it for a delicious meal.  They keep for a good year and provide great meals for winter time!

A New Item, Red Runner Beans

From our garden to the kitchen in minutes

Red Runner Beans! Great dried! We are always trying something new and this year it was red and scarlet runner beans.

They are magnificent in color and flavor and they produce a lot of foliage! They grew almost 15 feet tall!

Beefsteaks

These are White Beefsteaks!  Yes, we know. They are yellow but they are a lot closer to white than the big red ones!

Corn At Work

From our garden to the kitchen in minutes

Corn is getting ready to come inside and be a Sunday main dish! Go Corn Go! We live a little too close to the beach and sometimes it is difficult to get corn to really grown like it should.

Tomatoes!

'matoes are ready!  We grow about 30-40 different types of tomatoes using many older types which provide unique colors and flavors to the cooking task.

Green Beans By The Pool

Tomatoes, string beans (completed and just starting)  The reflected heat from the back wall and pool help the beans grow tall and produce heavily.

Scotch Bonnets For Flavor

These little gems are 20x a Jalapeno in "Flavor" .  Called Scotch Bonnets. Extremely hot so one has to be careful when one eats them!
