Panama Canal 2006; Ship's Tour

"A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends on the character of the user."

The Ship

Designed by world-famous architect Renzo Piano, the exquisitely crafted Regal Princess features Asian teak and Carrara marble. Onboard, million dollar art collections complement the vessel's dazzling design. Carrying only 670 passengers, the ship combines modern amenities with a sense of spaciousness.

Passengers step onboard the ship and into a spectacular three-story atrium. There are four duty-free boutiques so that you can shop for gifts even when you're miles from land. Lavish decks of imported teak offer up two shimmering pools, and four soothing whirlpool spas. Guests can get a drink from the in-pool bar, while admiring the ship's waterfall. Active guests can head to the spacious sports deck, complete with equipment for volleyball, basketball, jogging track, and paddle tennis, or they can step into the fitness center for a full workout. Specialized children and teen centers entertain the younger set onboard.

This ship was also recently refurbished to add 24-hour dining in the Lido restaurant. The elegant Palm Court dining room features hand-painted murals and etched glass partitions. For more casual meals, guests can enjoy the pizzeria or the Café del Sol. Those seeking entertainment will find a stylish bar serving wine, vodka, and caviar; the Colonial Raj-style lounge with a two-tiered mirror bar; domed entertainment complex with bar, dance floor, casino and observation lounge; and a nightclub and karaoke lounge. Plus, nightly shows take place in the International Show Lounge.
