Race Car Dave's Obituary

A great friend has left us...

David F. McTevia, a long time resident of Rossmoor, passed away peacefully Saturday morning June 11th in his home surrounded by family.    David was born in Glendale, Ca. in 1934.  He and his father were soap-box racecar drivers during the 1940’s.

He was an avid racecar fan, never missing a NASCAR race. His trade was engraving and he moved from the chemical based etchings and into Mac Photoshop during his career.  David retired from the Press-Telegram in 1995 after the passing of his beloved wife Marguerite.

He is survived by his brother Tim McTevia and sister Gail McTevia of Orofino, Idaho and three daughters: Debbie Fuller of Yucaipa, California, Jackie Daniel of Mansfield, Arkansas and Kathy Town of Canyon Lake, California and also a son, Guy McTevia of Lake Havasu, California.  He leaves eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

There was viewing Tuesday June 14th from 10:00-12:00am at McKenzie Mortuary in Long Beach followed by a celebration of his life at Cypress Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
