Walking In October
Quotation To Remember:
The truth is, that the craving for exercise is a part of healthy human nature. ~E. Warre, 1884
Autumn is here and finally the medical limitations are limited so it is back to normal! Paul loves to walk on the leaves and hear that distinct sound of "leaf crunch" as he heads down the sidewalk!
Halloween will soon be here and we will see more and more decorations adorn the homes in the neighborhood! Enjoy the walks!

October 1st And All Is Well!
The leaves will soon be on the ground
Pretty right now - Messy in a few weeks
Who lives up there?
Did You Know? - During the fall, in response to colder temperatures and less light, leaves stop producing chlorophyll, the green pigment that helps capture sunlight to power photosynthesis. As the green fades, the leave's other pigments shine through, such as orange and yellow carotenoids and vibrant red anthocyanin.
"Hey, at least I am well grounded"
"How about a smooch Big Boy"
"Yes! I am passionate!"
Did You Know? - Passiflora edulis is a vine species of passion flower that is native to Brazil, Paraguay and northern Argentina.
Its common names include passion fruit or passionfruit (English), maracuya (Spanish), granadille (French), maracujá (Portuguese) and lilikoʻi (Hawaiian).
It is cultivated commercially in tropical and subtropical areas for its sweet, seedy fruit. The passion fruit is a pepo, a type of berry, round to oval, either yellow or dark purple at maturity, with a soft to firm, juicy interior filled with numerous seeds.
The fruit is both eaten and juiced; passion fruit juice is often added to other fruit juices to enhance aroma.
Raw passion fruit is 73% water, 22% carbohydrates, 2% protein and 0.7% fat (table). In a 100 gram amount, fresh passion fruit contains 36% of the Daily Value (DV) of vitamin C, 42% dietary fiber, B vitamins riboflavin (11% DV) and niacin (10% DV), 12% iron and 10% phosphorus (right table).
Paul picked a couple last year and they were quite good!

Did You Know? - Early lamps were used by Greek and Roman civilizations, where light primarily served the purpose of security, both to protect the wanderer from tripping on the path over something or keeping the potential robbers at bay.
At that time oil lamps were used predominantly as they provided a long-lasting and moderate flame. The Romans had a word 'lanternarius', which was a term for a slave responsible for lighting the oil lamps in front of their villas.
This task remained the responsibility of a designated person up to the Middle Ages where the so-called 'link boys' escorted people from one place to another through the murky winding streets of medieval towns.
Before incandescent lamps, candle lighting was employed in cities. The earliest lamps required that a lamplighter tour the town at dusk, lighting each of the lamps.
In 1524, Paris house owners were required to have lanterns with candles lit in front of their houses at night, but the law was often ignored. Following the invention of lanterns with glass windows, which greatly improved the quantity of light, in 1594 the police of Paris took charge of installing lanterns in each city neighborhood.
Still, in 1662, it was a common practice for travelers to hire a lantern-bearer if they had to move at night through the dark, winding streets. Lantern bearers were still common in Paris until 1789.

The goul is bust chasing people up and down the street
Did You Know? - A ghoul is a monster or evil spirit in Arabic mythology, associated with graveyards and consuming human flesh.
The term was first used in English literature in 1786, in William Beckford's Orientalist novel Vathek, which describes the ghūl of Arabic folklore. In modern fiction, the term has often been used for a certain kind of undead monster.
By extension, the word ghoul is also used in a derogatory sense to refer to a person who delights in the macabre, or whose profession is linked directly to death, such as a gravedigger or graverobber.
No kidding!!
"I am watching you from above!"
