June 14th 2009 At The San Pedro Elks
The music is great, the people are fun, and the venue beautiful... And the Lakers won!
Did you know? - San Pedro was named after St. Peter of Alexandria, a 4th century bishop in Alexandria, Egypt. His feast day is November 24 on the local ecclesiastical calendar of Spain, the day on which Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo discovered the bay in 1542 which would become "San Pedro." Santa Catalina Island, named after St. Katherine of Alexandria, was also claimed for the Spanish Empire the next day, on her feast day, November 25. In 1602-1603, Sebastián Vizcaíno (1548–1624) officially surveyed and mapped the California coastline, including San Pedro Bay, for New Spain.
The music began right on time and the folks hit the dance floor immediately
One can see the cruise ships leave the harbor as you dance
Proud father and daughter in law
Mom and son
The Winter's are enjoying the goings on
What is she doing sitting down? She has to get back to leading the band!
Do daddy-oh go!
The view is spectacular
Dusk is coming the and lights are starting to twinkle
Check the reflections in the glass
The flash takes the romance out of the picture
