1940 Radio Holly-Days (December 18th)
Off we go for "dining" at the Westin Lobby Bar so we can visit our bartenders and deliver Christmas presents! We then walk to the Symphony Hall which s around the corner. No big meal tonight... Paul's tummy is already exploding!
A time long ago when imagination counted!
A 1940ís holiday radio broadcast comes alive ó featuring the childrenís programming, commercial jingles and Christmas songs that were etched in the nationís psyche. Backed by the lush sound of Pacific Symphony, the silky voices of Five by Design capture the sound and feel of a bygone era.
It was a great evening and the performance, wow! The symphony hall was amazing reverberating form the sounds of a fifty piece symphony and the voices of Christmas.
No pictures during the performance but perhaps a few memories can be gleaned from the following attempts:
Pictures... Of Course!
We went to the Westin to make a "Bartender Call" and have a bite to eat!
Carri studied the menu and decided on casadeas.. sans the little pickels
I liked the picture of my hand on my chin better....
Into The Symphony Hall Where We Can't Take Pictures!!!
Must have been 50 or so musicians tuning up!
A little entertainment at half time
It i truly a magnificent hall
The mistro is about to take center stage
The radio was brought in at half time so the narrator could tell about old time radio!
