The Rockettes At The OC Performing Arts center
The Rockettes are a well-known precision dance company, stationed out
of the Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York City. During the
Christmas season, the Rockettes women have performed 5 shows a day, 7
days a week, for 75 years.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall and
numerous other American and Canadian cities is the most-watched live
show in the USA, with more than 2.1 million spectators annually, when
they are performing.
The Evening Begins At The Westin Lobby Bar
We went with Vicky and Del (our neighbors), Carri (our dance instructor) and Eddie (Pete's brother who just flew in from Connecticut this afternoon). We had dinner at Pinot Province and walked to the theater.
We proceed Around The Corner To Pinot Province

We Walked in Light Rain To The OC Performing Arts Center For The Rockettes
Paul was (duh!) bad again using Miss Vicky's camera placed in his lap during the performance and snapped a few pictures to remind us of how good the performance was!
These eighteen folks just danced as one and on their wooden soldier routine we were just amazed at the precision of the performance!
Note the dark edge at the bottom of the pictures... that was the stage! We were in the first row and about 20 feet from the performers!
I kept saying to myself.... "Do Not Trip" or we could have been
smothered in dancers!

Back To The Hotel To Find The Car...
The Rockettes have performed annually at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade (since 1957), The Columbus Day Parade, and America's Thanksgiving
Parade in Detroit. The NBC Rockefeller Center Tree-Lighting Ceremony
also traditionally includes a performance by the dance troupe.
The Rockettes have also kicked off the announcements for new product
lines launched by such diverse companies as McDonald's, Coca-Cola,
Oldsmobile, L'eggs hosiery, Mannington Floors, and Honda's 50th
Anniversary show.
Their famous kick line started with 16 women and now has 36. They are
all between 5′6″ and 5′10 1/2″ and are arranged tallest in the middle
and shortest on the ends.
This evening we were in the first row and the closeups were amazing. Talk about precision dancing?!?
Vicky bought us Radio City Rockettes Christmas decorations to remember
the evening. We will indeed remember the evening! Thank you
