Did you know? - The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an oath of loyalty to the national flag and the republic of the United States of America, originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892. The Pledge has been modified four times since then, with the most recent change adding the words "under God" in 1954. The Pledge is predominantly sworn by children in public schools in response to state laws requiring the Pledge to be offered.
Congressional sessions open with the swearing of the Pledge, as do government meetings at local levels, meetings held by the Knights of Columbus, Royal Rangers, Boy Scouts of America, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Freemasons, Toastmasters International and their concordant bodies, other organizations, and many sporting events.

Why I am running for Congress
The United States is the greatest freest country that has ever existed, but we now face challenges that we must solve if we are to remain in that position. The most immediate challenge we face as a nation is to get our economy thriving again and to return America to full employment. Millions of Americans are unemployed, hurting and uncertain about making ends meet at the end of the month. They are worried about the future as well as the future of their children and grandchildren. Yet Congress is only concerned about getting re-elected. I will work to ensure that we leave the next generation a nation that is financially strong and more free and independent than today.
We have the responsibility to resolve the deficit and national debt issues before they bankrupt our nation. Our elected officials must act responsibly or future generations will suffer consequences for their refusal to accept accountability. I will always keep in mind I am responsible to the citizens of the United States and will correctly fulfill my responsibilities.

"We Californians have a state fiscal crisis brought about by elected representatives' irresponsibility with our regulatory structure, forcing our state to live beyond its means. We need a state representative with a business background who understands how to be honest with what the people entrust to their representatives and the common sense to not spend beyond the limits of our state budget. Californians need a representative who can make good decisions on issues which greatly affect all of us in California."

Lucille Kring was re-elected to the Anaheim City Council in November, 2006 after a four-year absence. Kring also served as a City Councilmember from 1998-2002.
Kring is a graduate from Western State University College of Law with a J.D. degree in Law. She practices in the field of labor, employment contract and real estate law. She also has a real estate brokers license and a B.S. degree in Chemistry.

"I'm running for State Senate to create jobs, fix the education system, and improve the economy for everyone. Send me to Sacramento to change the way the state does business and return California to its golden luster."
